Please send your mentor report in every month by the 25th. These are critical to the success of the program.
The submission code is the word "Grizzly" with a Big G.

20+ Ways to be a Great Mentor
1. Commit to at least one year with your mentee
2. Demonstrate to your mentee that you are consistent, dependable, and trustworthy.
3. Consistently act in ways that are ethical to earn the trust of your mentee
4. Know the mission of your mentoring provider organization (GYA).
5. Always follow the guidelines of your mentoring provider organization
6. Value the diverse economic, cultural, and religious traits of your mentee

What is Mentoring?
Mentoring is the presence of a caring responsible adult who, along with the gaurdian or parent, provides support, motivation, guidance, advice and friendship in order to help a young person succeed.
All applicants must select a mentor. You can download the mentor application here. Once your mentor completes the application he/she may seal the application, but it must be turned in with the student application at the same time. If you or your mentor have any questions regarding these applications, you may contact SFC Danny Castillo at 805-782-6889.
