College Entrance Exams
Your son/daughter may be interested in going to college upon graduation from Georgia Youth ChalleNGe Academy. One of the requirements for admission to many colleges is that the prospective student submits scores from either the SAT or ACT test. While at Youth ChalleNGe Academy, your cadet will be given an opportunity to take both tests.
The SAT will be given on December 5, 2009 and January 23, 2010. The fee for this test is $45.00 and must be submitted by October 31, 2009 for the December test and December 15, 2009 for the January test. Registration fees submitted after this date but before December 30, 2009 will require a late registration fee of $23.00. After December 30, 2009, cadets wishing to take this test will be required to register as a stand-by tester at a fee of $83.00.
If you wish to register your cadet for this test, you may mail your payment to the address below in care of Melany Wayne, or pay on Family Day. Checks or money orders should be made to the order of “The College Board”. Students will complete their paper registration forms after money has been received at the Academy. You may also pay by credit card online at www.collegeboard.com. In order to register online, you will need the school code 111-329, and the test center code 11-231.
The ACT will be given on December 12, 2009 and February 6, 2010. The fee for this test is $31.00 and must be submitted before November 6, 2009 for the December 12, 2009 test and January 5, 2010 for the February 6, 2010 test. Registration fees received between 7 - 20 November, 2009 for the December test and 6 - 20 January 2010 for the February 6, 2010 test will require a late fee of $20.00. Cadets registering after January 15, 2010 will be required to test on a stand by basis at a fee of $71.00. You may also mail this payment to the address above or pay on Family Day. Please make checks payable to “ACT”.
Cadets can only be registered for testing after payments have been received. Each test requires a separate check or money order. Please send checks or money orders to the following address:
- YCA Counseling Department
- ATTN: Melany Wayne
- P.O. Box 7620
