The purpose of the Youth ChalleNGe Academy is to provide "at-risk" youth with Academic and Life Skills training aimed at improving employment potential and creating productive citizens.

Directions to Fort Gordon Youth ChalleNGe Academy

Directions From Atlanta

  1. Take I-20 East towards Augusta
  2. At exit 194, turn RIGHT onto Ramp.
  3. Turn RIGHT onto Jimmy Dyess Parkway
  4. Cross over US 78 and enter Fort Gordon through Gate 1.
  5. Continue on Chamberlain Avenue until the second traffic light.
  6. Turn left onto Rice Avenue.
  7. Keep STRAIGHT on Rice Road.  Rice Road will become Avenue of the States.
  8. Turn Right on 40th Street.

Activities and Training

DAILY ACTIVITIES
SAMPLE DAILY ACTIVITY SCHEDULE
 

0500: First Call (Cadets are awakened).

0550-0600: Reville Formation

0600-0700: Physical Training for Cadets and clean up.

0700-0800: Cadets form up for accountability and then move to the dining facility for breakfast.

0830-0845: Formation and Inspection.

0845-1015: First Period

1015-1030: Class Break 

1030-1200: Second Period

1200-1330: Lunch formation for accountability and announcements.

1330-1500: Third Period

There are eight core components of the Fort Gordon ChalleNGe Academy program. Cadets must successfully complete all eight components to graduate from the Academy. The core components are designed to educate and produce youth that will become productive members of the community upon graduation.
