The Hoosier Youth ChalleNGe Academy intervenes in the lives of at-risk youth by training, mentoring, and developing these individuals into responsible and productive citizens while in a controlled, quasi-military, residential setting, followed by a post-residential phase.

A typical weekday schedule consists of the following: physical training, personal hygiene, barracks maintenance, meals, classes, platoon activities, personal time, and sleep.
 
0600-0645: Wake up, Personal Hygiene
0645-0730: Barracks Maintenance/Inspection
0730-0830: Breakfast
0830-1200: Academic Excellence
0830-1130: Core Component Instruction
1130-1300: Lunch
1300-1630: Academic Excellence
1300-1600: Core Component Instruction
1600-1800: Organized PT
1730-1830: Evening Chow
1830-1850: Academy Maintenance
1850-1900:
Formation
1900-2200: Personal Hygiene, Quiet time
2200: Lights Out
