We are partnering with the WorkOne program, which is funded by the Workforce Investment Act. This will provide additional training and expertise in the classroom focusing on job readiness skills. A Counselor from the WorkOne office in Mooresville will be here a minimum of two days a week to participate in and support our efforts.
One of the benefits of having their resources is that we will be able to offer financial incentives to your child for attaining set goals. For example, cadets could receive a $300.00 check when they earn their GED. We believe those who are not currently working up to their full potential may be motivated to do so.
For those who don’t reach their educational goal during the HYCA residential phase, WorkOne will still provide the monetary incentive to them when they earn their GED. This is contingent on the cadet maintaining contact with the WorkOne Counselor after leaving HYCA.
The WorkOne Counselor will build a relationship with each cadet and will provide on-going support both during the residential and post-residential phases of the HYCA program. There are many other types of assistance they can offer your child while here and after they return home. It’s everyone’s goal to keep our cadets on track.
As your child is under the age of 18, WorkOne must have your written permission for their participation*. Please sign and return the enclosed form. If you have any questions, please call 812-314-8275.
