Cadet of the Week: Week 3
The Cadet of the Week for Week 3 is Benjamin Boes, from Coral MI. Cadet Boes was selected as a First Platoon Squad leader during Pre-Challenge. he is highly motivated, self-disciplined, and exhibits 100% effort in all assignments.
Cadet of the Week: Week 4
The Cadet of the Week for week 4 is Camille Morris from Detroit, MI. Cadet Morris scored well on all of her testing during Pre-Challenge and has completed all training evolutions with motivation and a sense of purpose. Cadet Morris is assigned to 1st Platoon.
Cadet of the Week: Week 5
Cadet Marcus Pirkola,from L'Anse, MI, is the academy's Cadet of the Week for week 5. This Cadet carries a 3.83 GPA, has no negative incident reports, and has shined in daily practice of leadership/followership. He has held a Squad Leader position, constantly upholds the standards of the MYCA, and is a member of the Academy Weight Training Team.
Cadet of the Week: Week 7
Cadet of the Week for Week 7 is Cadet Brian Blake, from Marion, MI. He is a disciplined and motivated young man who carries a 4.0 GPA and has held positions as a Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. he consistently sets the standard for others to follow and is a member of the Academy Color Guard and Weight Training Team.
Cadet of the Week: Week 8
The Cadet of the Week position for Week 8 belongs to Cadet Aaron Pierce from Attica, MI. This Cadet shows a dedication to duty and leadership that sets him apart from his peers. Cadet Pierce has held billets as a Squad Leader and Platoon Leader. He is a member of the Academy Student Council and Weight Training Team, all while carrying a 4.0 GPA. This Cadet has done a great job ensuring accountability within 2nd Platoon and has led his platoon to some impressive inspection scores.
Cadet of the Week: Week 9
The Cadet of the Week for week 9 is Cadet Andrew Ball of Macomb, MI. Cadet Ball has set the example as both a Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. He is a member of the Academy Weight Training Team and carries a 4.0 GPA.
Cadet of the Week: Week 10
The Cadet of the Week position for week 10 belongs to Cadet Kyle Mitchell from Oak Park, MI. Cadet Ball is highly regarded in the platoon for the respect he shows his peers. He received a 98/100 on his bi-weekly assessment and has no disciplinary incident reports. He is responsible for his floor's bulletin boards and supply items and has held billets as a Squad Leader and Platoon Leader. While Platoon Leader, 2nd Platoon won all four weekly inspections. He is on the Academy Weight Training Team and carries a 3.9 GPA.
Cadet of the Week: Week 11
Week 11 Cadet of the Week is Cadet Kaleb Ackley from Manistique, MI. Cadet Ackley sets the example in academics, behavior, and physical training. He has held billets as a Squad Leader and Platoon Leader. This Cadet is on the Academy Color Guard, the Weight Training Team, and holds a 4.0 GPA. His academic scores remain among the best in the company.
Cadet of the Week: Week 12
The Cadet of the Week for week 12 belongs to Cadet Amber Strachan from Perry, MI. Cadet Strachan is a very focused young lady who is able to balance academics and activities. A 4.0 GPA student, she has held positions as Platoon Guide, Squad Leader, and Platoon Leader. This Cadet is a member of the Academy Weight Training Team and Yearbook Staff. She also tutors her classmates in Math, Science, and computers. This Cadet is consistently setting a positive example and scored a 467/500 on the last Physical Fitness Test.
Cadet of the Week: Week 13
The Cadet of the Week for MYCA Week 13 is Raphael Motley of Ferndale, MI. Cadet Motley has held billets as a Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. he is a member of the Newsletter Staff, the Ambassador Staff, and is a Math Tutor. He holds a 4.0 GPA and scored an impressive 479/500 on the last Physical Fitness Test.
Cadet of the Week: Week 14
Cadet Johsua Martinez, of Lansing, MI, is Week Fourteen's Cadet of the Week. He is on the Run Team and Student Council and has been invited to speak with the Academy Ambassadors. His hard work has netted him a 3.7 GPA and positions as a Squad Leader, Platoon Leader, and Company Guide. He is highly motivated, focused, and serious about self-improvement.
Cadet of the Week: Week 15
Week 15 Cadet of the Week belongs to Cadet Nathan Augustine of Battle Creek, MI. Cadet Augustine is on the Weight Team and is an MYCA Ambassador. He holds a 4.0 GPA and leads by example, but also works hard behind the scenes to assist leadership and help fellow cadets. This cadet embodies the volunteer spirit and serves on the Academy Ambassador Staff.
Cadet of the Week: Week 16
The Cadet of the Week for Week 16 is Maxine Schmidt of Grand Blanc, MI. Cadet Schmidt has demonstrated high levels of motivation throughout the cycle. She completes her tasks without need of constant supervision. Cadet Schmidt has worked extremely hard to improve her level of physical fitness and has realized her weight loss goals , ultimately, cutting her mile run time in half. She is maintaining a 3.0 GPA and is currently performing the duties of a Cadet Squad Leader. Cadet Schmidt is also on the Academy Weight Team and on the Newsletter staff.
Cadet of the Week: Week 17
Cadet Nicholas Sumner of Montrose, MI is the Cadet of the Week for week 17. Cadet Sumer has earned 7 positive incident reports and carries a 4.23 GPA. He leads from the front, currently holding a Squad Leader position and is on the Weight Team. Cadet Sumner also serves as a tutor in Science and Computers. He plans to work for Little Caesars Pizza after graduation and has also enlisted in the Army National Guard.
Cadet of the Week: Week 18
The Cadet of the Week for Week 18 is Jason DeMars of Garden City, MI. Having been a Squad Leader and currently a Platoon Leader, Cadet DeMars sets the example while keeping his platoon informed and on target. As a member of the Academy Run Team and the Ambassador Staff, he holds a 3.93 GPA and earned a 496/500 on the last Physical Fitness Test. His selection to the Permanent Leadership Board confirms his motivation.
Cadet of the Week: Week 19
The Cadet of the week for Week 19 belongs to David Pugh of Garden City, MI. He has been a Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and a Platoon Leader. Cadet Pugh has received five positive Incident Reports and is highly regarded by his fellow cadets for his teamwork, effort, and motivation. As a Science Tutor, he holds a 3.60 GPA and earned a 387/500 on the last Physical Fitness Test. He is one of the cadets who works outside of the spotlight to improve the morale and performance of his platoon. he will be employed by McDonalds upon graduation.
Cadet of the Week: Week 20
The Cadet of the Week for Week 20 is Kevin Chapman of Lakeview, MI. Cadet Chapman has been a Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and a Platoon Leader. He has struggled academically but has worked diligently to improve and sets a positive example in personal appearance, tact, and discipline. He is an Academy Ambassador and earned a 348/500 on the last Physical Fitness Test. Cadet Chapman has earned a permanent leadership billet as a Squad Leader and will be employed by Tamarack Sports upon graduation.
