Mentor Training

Mentor Training

The National Guard Challenge Bureau requires all mentors to attend a MENTOR TRAINING workshop before being officially matched to their cadet.  The training will address the mentor's role and requirements both during the Residential and Post-Residential phase of the program.  All prospective mentors will receive notification by mail concerning the mandatory training.

Class 34 Mentor Training Day:

When:  Friday, 5 March 2010

Location:  TYA Auditorium - Pryor Campus

Time:  8:00 am - 3:00 pm

RSVP:  Contact Vicki Smiddy by 27 February 2010.

Who Should Attend:  All prospective mentors - In the event mentors are unable to attend this training, please contact Vicki Smiddy to arrange another training option.

  • Dress code is casual. 
  • Please be sure to RSVP your attendance & do not bring guests.  We are limited on space and food.
  • Cadets and Mentors will not be allowed to leave post.
  • TYA is a tobacco, drug and alcohol free program.  None of these items will be allowed on grounds. 

Schedule of Events:

8:00 am- 8:30 am      Registration at the Auditorium
8:30 am -12:00 pm    Mentor Training Workshop
12:00 pm -1:00 pm    Lunch with cadet provided for Mentors

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm     Complete Mentor Training
2:00 pm -2:15 pm      Billet Tour

2:15 pm -2:45 pm      Mentor & Cadet Games
2:45 pm - 3:00 pm     Recognition of Mentors/Closing
