Important Dates for Class 2010-1
First Pass
Pickup Date: 5 March 2010

Information: All family members should arrive at Pendergast Park NLT 1145hrs to pick up their Cadet at 1200hrs. One family member should stand in the respective line for their Cadets Platoon (1st, 2nd, 3rd) to complete the sign out roster. They will be given a GREEN CARD that they will hand carry across the parking lot to the Platoon that will be standing in formation. The Senior Cadre member will receive the card and call that Cadet out of formation to greet their family. At that point they are released on Pass. Please have the Cadet back at Pendergast Park NLT 1145hrs to rejoin their Platoon. This is a curbside drop off, just stop, let them out and depart. Thanks.
Mentor Onsite Visitation (Mentors Only)

Mentor Service Learning Visitation (Mentors Only)

Return Time: 1:30 PM
Information: Mentors can join with their Cadets in providing meaningful service to the community, and then enjoy lunch out before returning Cadets to the Academy.
Family Day
Date: 11 April 2010
Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Information: Family members are invited to join their Cadet on this day. They are invited to Pendergast Park from 1000 am to 3 pm. Upon arrival family members should enter the soccer stadium and quickly find a spot from which they can see the middle soccer field. At approximately 1000 AM the welcoming ceremony will begin. This ceremony should take approximately 15 minutes. Once the Cadet is released from formation they will disperse throughout the park to find their families. They will spend this time with their families and fellow Cadets. CADETS ARE REQUIRED TO REMAIN ON PARK GROUNDS AND ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER ANY VEHICLES. Families, please BRING ENOUGH FOOD for your family and your Cadet. There will be a variety of sports and activities spread throughout the park for your enjoyment. Remember, all WYA facilities and activities are SMOKE, DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE. Please observe this rule and help your Cadet remain in good standing at the WYA. Make your plans know!
Mentor Offsite Visitation (Only Mentors who attended at least one of the first two visitations)

Information: Mentors can pick up their Cadets for a free day of fun together on Puget Sound Peninsula. Plan ahead and communicate with your assigned Cadet about some activities you might enjoy together. This is strictly limited to the two of you (Mentor and Cadet) and should not be viewed by either of you as another opportunity for them to see family or friends. Please make sure this day is spent building the relationship the two of you have committed to maintain. Life is all about relationships; while the youth’s other relationships are important, yours will be key in helping them stay motivated and on track during the Post Residential Phase. Please respect this rule if you plan to visit.

Graduation

Information: The Graduation Ceremony will be held at Life Center Church in Tacoma, WA. Please plan to arrive between 8:30 & 9:30 am to get a good seat. More information will be posted soon.
