Mentoring Programs Change Lives

Seven years ago, I discovered how being a mentor not only could change a child’s life but also could change mine.  
 
More than 3 million adult Americans are involved in formal one-on-one mentoring relationships. Mentoring programs are faith-based, school-based, community-based, or agency-based. They can take place at work or even online. Mentoring recently came into the spotlight in January, when President Obama, appearing in an ad with the words “Be the Change: Mentor a Child,” said: “I am going to ask you to play your part...to put your foot firmly into the current of history.”   for more...
