The mission of the West Virginia Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy is to train and mentor selected at-risk youth to become contributing members of society using the 8 Core Components in a quasi-military environment during a 22-week residential and one year follow-up Post-Residential program.

Family and Friends of the MCA...

We’re asking for your help. Two pieces of legislation are currently before our Federal Government, Senate Bill #645 and House Bill #207. Each of these bills will benefit the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program by modifying US Code, Section 509(d)(1) Modification of  the Department of Defense Share of Expenses under the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program.  What this will mean is, when a new ChalleNGe program opens, the Federal Government will pick up 100% of the cost for the first two years. These bills also guarantee that the Federal Government will increase their share of the program’s expense from 60% to 75% for each year thereafter, reducing the cost to the state.

Supporting this action will benefit our local ChalleNGe program as well as help the ChalleNGe Program spread to other states. Please send an email to your Senators and Representatives encouraging them to support this action and the Mountaineer ChalleNGe Academy.
