Theresa Smith started as the Recruiting/Placement/Mentoring Coordinator at WYCP in 2005 and has been helping applicants, families, guardians and mentors ever since. She and her RPM staff work together to recruit young people for the biggest life-changing event of their lives. They help cadets to work with their mentors in planning for their futures and stay in touch with graduates long after graduation. Theresa is always available to answer questions, provide information, make presentations and is willing to talk to anyone about our program! She enjoys seeing the cadets get excited about a visit from their mentors or families, passing GED tests, applying for scholarships or securing jobs before graduation. She believes in the ChalleNGe philosophy, has seen what a difference it can make in a young person’s life and is proud to be a part of that transformation. Theresa is always a little sad when cadets finish their class and the buildings fall silent—until the next group of candidates come through the doors to join a new class!
