Job Corps
Youth ChalleNGe Academy at Ft. Stewart has entered into a concurrent enrollment program with Turner Job Corps Center of Albany, GA, to provide 100 of their cadets the advantage of learning a trade through Job Corps while attending YCA. This makes our students more successful at getting hired at a livable wage. Our aim is to teach them to be contributing members of the community, and individually successful!
Job Corps is a government program, run by a private company. There are 120 Centers in the Continental US and its territories. Each Center provides food, clothing, shelter, medical and dental services. You can also earn a GED/HSD, a certificate in a vocational trade, a driver's license, and the possibility of earning an advanced trade certificate or college courses without cost to you. Once you have completed your training at a Job Corps site, there are CTS staff that will assist you in various ways (i.e.: getting a job, finding housing or transportation, etc.) for up to a year after you have left the Job Corps Center.
