Commit-Commits to spending at least 17 months in consistent contact with there mentee.
Attend- Attends mentor orientation training to learn how to relate effectively to mentee, become familiar with program polices and guidelines as well as to become acquainted with regional coordinator and other mentors in his/her area.
Plan- Assist the cadet with the Life Plan development and discusses his or her progress in that plan.
Contact- Makes consistent contact with cadet by phone, mail/e-mail or in person. Four contacts per month are required. At least two of these must be in person during post Residential Phase.
Observe- Observes all programs policies and guidelines for mentors.
Resources- Refers the mentee to community resources as needed and helps the mentee obtain those resources
Participate- Participates in off-site visits, visits ChalleNGe sites, and takes part in relevant activities.
Share- Shares occasional, informal and fun activities with his or her mentee. The mentor and mentee will jointly select and schedule the activities.
Communicate- Report monthly mentee progress reports by on-line submission, e-mail/mail, fax or by phone to the Mentor Coordinator. The mentor promptly informs the coordinator of the mentee progress over the Post Residential (12 months)
