I graduated in January 1997. I am wondering what others think about starting some kind of Alumni Association. I know it is a big undertaking, but for what the Program gave me I am willing to do whatever it takes. Since graduating I have spent four years in the Marine Corps and am now training to be a Firefighter/Paramedic.

A PARENTS STORY

The YCA Academy provided our daughter with the opportunity

for a brighter future. Most importantly, as parents it gave us hope

and the desire to believe again when all seemed so very dim.

Needless to say we have become true supporters if the

Youth Challenge Academy.  We pray that it will forever exist,

helping those in need, providing sunshine in the mist of cloudy

days. Once again, thank you very much for everything. YCA

has made a difference in our lives.

. My name is Amber Headd. I graduated from YCA in December 1998. My name was Amber Fox back then. A lot has happened since graduation. I am now a wife and stay at home mom to 3 beautiful kids. My husband and I met through a  mutual friend while I was at YCA. He and I have been together since. Life is great. And I just wanted to say that I am so glad for the experiences that I had at YCA. Being there helped me to realize that I can really do anything that I put my sweat into. SFC Weathers used to tell us that it's all about mind over matter. If you believe that you can do something, you can. Simple as that. I try to instill that same thought process into my children. I am proud to have gone to YCA and I know I am a better person for it.

Sincerely,
Amber Headd (FOX)
