Awards

Each year the USO recognizes the best Youth Challenge Academies in each of the Eight Core Components.
The Kentucky Bluegrass Challenge Academy has received the following awards.

The 2003 Lieutenant General Emmet H. Walker Academic Excellence Award: Kentucky Bluegrass ChalleNGe Academy.

The 2004 USO Award for Excellence in Responsible Citizenship: Kentucky Bluegrass ChalleNGe Academy.

The 2006 USO Award for Excellence in Physical Fitness:
Kentucky Bluegrass ChalleNGe Academy.


  Residential Phase Awards

Awards are given to recognize Cadet's progress and achievement in academics, physical training, leadership, community service and other various areas. 
Following this link to the individual awards & ribbons  given in the Residential Phase. 

  Graduation Awards

At the Graduation Ceremony we will honor all cadets who have satisfactorily completed the Academy's eight core components. The  Academy will recognize individual Cadets for their outstanding performance and/or most significant improvement while attending the Academy. A gold, silver and bronze award will be presented in the following areas:

  • Academic Excellence Award
  • Citizenship
  • Life Coping Skills
  • Job Skills
  • Leadership and Followership
  • Health and Hygiene
  • Physical Training
  • Community Service
  • Most Improved Cadet

At the Graduation Ceremony the Academy will announce the name of the Honor Cadets. These cadets have excelled in all areas at the Academy and have earned the respect of the cadets and staff. These distinguished cadets will have his/her photo placed on the wall of honor with past honor graduates.
