Carrie,
I have only received two letters and I run to the mailbox every day BUT I know my son has sent at least 5 letters to his girlfriend :-), 1 to his Grandma, sister and step dad. This is from a kid that absolutely hates writting. I smile because when he was in elementary school he used to ask for 3 letter words for his assignments because he did not want to write big words! I am proud of his accomplishment and attempts to correspond to everyone - and I know it takes him a few days to complete a letter. I enjoy getting tidbits of information from all the parents that share with us. Keep your chin up he is still there, and one more day closer to graduating.

Hi Megan!
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I have only received two letters, but I know that he has written both of his Grandma's which makes me very proud.
Your son sounds a lot like mine. He hates writing anything, but yet these letters I have are written so well - how is that possible?

Thanks

I am the mom of Cadet Clarke, Plt 2 I have been getting the most impressive letters from my son. We adopted him at the age of 6 and have had a lot of issues. He has told me in the letters that he loves me and is doing this for me because I have been there for him. He also said in one of the letters that He is seeing now how his actions affect everyone around him and that he was sorry for all that he has put me through in the past. I had a hard time dropping him off, as he told me he wanted to find his birth mom and he was mad at me for sending him there. These letters have made me cry as he has never told me these things before.. Thank You, OYCp for all you are doing for my Son.

30 more days and we will be able to hold are children again. I am counting the days. I have received 3 letters from my daughter, however her brother, grandparents and friends have received them as well. The 3rd letter sounded better than the first, she did tell her brother that she has made 2 friends so far, which helps out so I know she it not alone. I plan to be the first one in line on Sept 4. At least I hope so. Judie I am so proud of you!!

Well, we are getting closer to seeing our kids! I know I am counting down and checking the photo galleries everyday. Words cannot express how proud I am of my son and all the other cadets! OYCP is an amazing opportunity/program and I feel very fortunate to have my son involved.
As they say, it isn't easy but it is rewarding! I just wanted to say hi to all of you out there and I look forward to seeing you the 4th at 8:00am
