Well I am regular on these boards, which I am thankful that they provide. My son too is a changed guy. Actually it's been over two weeks and I am still beaming! His stepfather was in shock for the four days and really didn't know what to say. I have to say that we hoped for the best, but planned for the worst. How shock was I, not only seeing him walk down that gym ramp, but the fact that he called me Ma'am for the first two days!
He has a plan, is becoming organized and finally is gaining that self assurance and is turning into the man I always envisioned. He is very proud of his academic progress as well. It's funny how he really doesn't remember all of the crap that he pulled prior to his departure. However, instead of using that as an excuse he said "I don't recall that Mother, but I take full responsibility for my actions and I apologize for all that I put you through". Yep I had trouble closing my mouth. He then went on to say "Mother, how did you not kick me out of the house?".
So yes, a completely changed man that gets up at 6:30 each morning ready to run, does his own laundry and is completely calm - doesn't begin to describe our 4 blissful days with him.
Words cannot describe how full my heart is with pride for my son and my gratefulness towards OYCP. We drove back on Tuesday and he was actually excited getting back to OYCP. What more can I ask for?
